Shaping Our Future

Our three areas of focus

The Shaping Our Future campaign has three areas of focus:

  • Excellence without Exclusivity (increasing bursaries)
  • St Paul’s in Partnership (working with the local community)
  • Building to Inspire (continuing to create a world-class school)

Excellence without Exclusivity

Excellence, inspiration and inclusivity were at the heart of the St Paul’s philosophy when the school was founded by John Colet in 1509. This vision is at risk, because the greatest barrier to entry for bright pupils is now the cost of school fees.

If their parents cannot afford the school fees, then we will offer bursaries to help them. This will restore Colet’s vision for social mobility.

St Paul’s in Partnership

In order to raise awareness of St Paul’s bursary programme, we will be consolidating partnerships with prep schools, primary school heads, sports’ clubs and youth clubs. We will be revitalising our charitable work and developing enterprise skills in our pupils through a programme that provides exciting opportunities for young entrepeneurs.

Building to Inspire

At the end of 2019 the £114 million senior school renewal campaign is due for completion. We have now secured funding to redevelop St Paul’s Juniors which we will turn to in 2022. However there are two buildings in urgent need of replacement – our boathouse and sports pavilion.
